Gender Confirming Surgery
Gender confirming surgery involves changing the shape, appearance, and, sometimes, function of parts of the body generally thought to represent males or females. Common areas that might be addressed through gender confirming surgery are the face, chest and breasts, and groin. There are many different types of surgery to meet these goals. Your plastic surgeon might add to or remove tissues in these areas of the body. Your plastic surgeon might also use tissue from another place on your own body or materials manufactured outside your body to perform these surgeries. Often these surgeries are performed together with other non-surgical treatments, so you will likely work with several medical providers ,including your plastic surgeon.
